The list to the left appeared in the Nunda News June 16, 1917. It consists of the names of the local men who joined to fight in World War I. This list includes those men who were part of the U.S. military by June of 1917 - many more would follow. According to one source, a total of 108 Nunda Area men would march off to the War! The list was part of a news article entitled "Nunda Boys Start For War --- Big Demonstration in Their Behalf". A copy of the article was found in the files of the Village Clerk by the Nunda Area Veteran's Team. Among the names is Cecil Seager, who would be killed in action in France. The local American legion post bears his name. See Image 16 for a photograph taken of the "Big Demonstration"
