The above image is identified as being the Nuinda Boy Scout Troop #77 at a winter campout in Letchworth Park in 1930. If you can identify any of the boys or adults, please send the names to us! More is known about the image found below. The following caption was written by Gail Diemoz when the NHS published the photo in the Genesee County Express in March of 2010: "Nunda's Troop #77 Boy Scouts look quite pleased with themselves in this 1951 photo taken by scoutmaster Dr. John Weaver. Three tons of newspapers were collected and piled in the back room of what is now Sandy's Restaurant after searching attics, cellars, and garages of local townspeople. The paper drive provided funds for tents and other needed troop equipment. Shown from left, first row, Gilbert Reischmann, David Short, Chad Broughton, Tom Byrnes; second row, Donald Paine, Roger Pierce, Edward Meade, John Byrnes, Dick Beardsley; third row, Michael Reischmann, Donald Housser, Ronald Kennedy and Rodney Carpenter. Three boys from this group, Tom Byrnes, Chad Broughton and Russell Bonadonna went on to obtain Eagle Scout rank, the highest in scouting. " |
