Southeast Corner of East and State Street, 1860's

This rare stereoview was taken from the sidewalks on the west side of State Street looking toward the southeast. The Village Square would be to the right, and part of the balcony and awnings of the Livingston Block are to the left. The "New York Store" building still stands, but the rest of the "Emporium Block" was burned in a fatal fire in 1926.

We thank Karen Gibson Strang for sharing this view with us.
