The Nunda Bicentennial Committee is pleased to announce the release of A History of Firefighting in Nunda. This book is the first in a series of publications detailing various aspects of history in the Nunda area. Nearly two centuries of fire fighting are described in this new 2006 publication. More than just a hsitory of our fire department, this is a story of Nunda growing up dealing with political rivalries, budgetary concerns, physical and technological changes, and the influence of forces and events far beyond the Keshequa Valley. The work includes photographs and an appendix of primary and secondary source materials. There are also photographs and names of the members of the fire companies in the 1940's and a list of current members. A History of Firefighting in Nunda may be purchased for $5 at the Bell Memorial Library, Nunda Historical Society, Nunda Family Pharmacy, and Nunda town and village offices. You can also use the link below to go to our order form.
